Agreement on the Transfer of Membership History Between Trade Unions and Vocational Training Funds
SVS, SV, Starfsafl, Landsmennt, Sveitamennt, Ríkismennt, and Sjómennt are parties to an agreement on the transfer of members' membership history between the vocational training funds. The agreement was revised and has been in effect since 1 December 2017. The purpose of the agreement is to ensure the fair transfer of rights between the vocational training funds.

The following trade unions may transfer members' membership history between vocational training funds under this agreement.
Please note that craft and skilled trades divisions within the trade unions listed here to the left are not covered by this agreement. Only the General Division and the Commerce and Office Division are included.
Skilled trades are affiliated with other vocational training funds, such as Iðan and Rafmennt, and therefore members covered by those funds cannot transfer their membership history to the trade unions and vocational training funds listed below.
Members covered by the following collective agreements are eligible under this cooperation agreement on the transfer of membership history between vocational training funds:
*Collective Agreement between VR/LÍV, SA and FA
Vocational Training Fund for Commerce and Office Employees (SVS) and the Commerce Vocational Training Fund (SV)
*Collective Agreement between Efling, Hlíf, VSFK and SA
Starfsafl
*Collective Agreement between SGS and SA
Landsmennt
*Collective Agreement between SGS and the Icelandic Association of Local Authorities
Sveitamennt
*Collective Agreement between SSÍ, SFS and SA
Sjómennt
*Collective Agreement between SGS and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs
Ríkismennt
Please note: Contributions must have been paid to the new trade union before a transfer of membership history can take place.
